At the next month’s meeting a competition for the best butter sponge will be held.
Tennis. The annual opening day of the tennis courts at Longbush took the form of a Yankee tournament on Labour Day when 60 people attended, including visitors from other clubs. In declaring the courts open the president, Mr Seymour Evans, expressed his pleasure at seeing such a large attendance of players. They had, he said, only completed the courts in the middle of last season so this year was their real tryout which they all hoped would be a great success.
Mr R. Wyeth in reply, thanked Mr Evans on behalf of the visitors for his welcome and the club for its hospitality. Miss E. Barraclough and Mr T. Beer won the Yankee tournament. A Successful Concert
