CLAIM FAILS

CHILL CONTRACTED. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, October 25. An unusual compensation case occupied the attention of the Arbitration Court to-day when Ronald McNab, a tailor, claimed £3l with £1 medical expenses from Kirkcaldie and Stains, alleging that in the course of his work he was forced to sit in an unusually cold draught one morning. His jaw became stiff and he contracted a chill which resulted in paralysis of the left side of his face and was disabled for a period of twelve weeks. The defence was a denial that the injury was so caused. The medical evidence was that a diffused draught was not a cause of paralysis. Plaintiff was non-suited.
