LARWOOD’S INJURY. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, July 20. Three doctors reporting on the injury to Larwood’s foot say the X-ray shows a small sesamoid bone beneath the great toe is in two pieces and is calculated to cause a fracture. He is also suffering from synovitis and chronic arthritis of the joint. Larwood’s action immensely strains the joint which is showing evidence of age, vigorous wear and overuse. The result of the examination suggests that Larwood will not play again in 1933. WEST INDIES BEAT STAFFORDSHIRE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, July 20. West Indies 1.. the first innings scored 168. Staffordshire in the second innings scored 99 (Constantine 4 for 22, Achong 4 for 31). West Indies, in the second innings lost one for 55. West Indies won by nine wickets. GENTLEMEN v. PLAYERS. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, July 20. Players in the first innings scored 309 (Marriott 4 for 81). Gentlemen in the first innings made 143 (Jardine 59). The latter followed on and scored G for 152 (Turnbull 72). PLAYERS WIN BY 10 WICKETS. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 1.10 a.m.) London, July 21. The Gentlemen in the second innings made 177 and the Players 12 for no wickets. The Players won by ten wickets.
