backs away. The College backs were definitely not as good as the School line. Their handling was good, but they were too orthodox and inclined to be slow off the mark. Harpur played a good game, but was often responsible for slowing the attack and sometimes ho hung on too long. Crisp and Pearson worked together very well. Any advantage College scored from slightly superior forwards was more than compensated for by the brilliant School backs. The inside men worked together like clockwork, and the two wingers, Ullrich and Eathorne, were fast and clever. As a whole, they were faster off the mark than the College backs, sent cleaner and swifter passes, and were generally more enterprising. At times the game resolved itself into a test between the School backs and the College forwards. The tackling of both teams was solid. The game was always interesting. Neither side could hold a territorial advantage for very long, and play swept quickly up and down the field. The first match between the two schols is rc-orded as having taken place in 1883, when College won by 20 points to 0. The record score c' the matches was made in 1905, when School vzon by 41 points to 0. In the last three years the matches have resulted as follows:—1930, College 8, School 3; 1931, School 36, College 0; 1932, School 19, College 6. MEN’S HOCKEY TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW.
