NEW PHRASING
THE LORD’S PRAYER GERMAN PREACHER’S IDEA ADVISER TO HITLER (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) London, June 26. The Konigsberg correspondent of the British United Press says that for the first time for centuries the Lord’s Prayer was changed from the phrasing adopted by Luther. The change was due to Pastor Muller, Herr Hitler’s adviser on church matters, who at Schlosskirche, Konigsberg, paraphrased the prayer and final blessing into an everyday speech. The whole service suggested how the rites of the church will be revolutionized at the wish of the Nazis. The new service lasted less than an hour and Pastor Muller’s sermon only 15 minutes. The hymns were accompanied by the brass band of the Nazi Storm Troops.
