Mrs Robertson was the guest of Mr and Mrs Broomfield recently. Miss Porteous spent the week-end at Ohai. Messrs S. Clouston, A. Scott and J. Dickson motored to Otama during the week, where they are visiting friends. Recent visitors to Dunedin included Mr and Mrs Evatt, Mrs Porteous, Misses Ryan and Chilton. Mr and Mrs J. Flett and Mr and Mrs A. Gutschlag motored to Gore for the week-end.
Mesdames F. J. Stephens, and T. J. Walker returned from their visit to Dunedin last Monday evening. On the eve of her marriage Miss M. Dahlenburg was tendered a gift evening in the Waikouro school on Friday, June 2, when there was a . large attendance of residents and friends. The function took the form of a dance, music being supplied by Mrs D. Muir, Messrs Muir and Cowan. At a convenient interval Mr Cowan asked the guest of the evening to accept the numerous gifts on behalf of those present and wished her health, wealth and prosperity in her new sphere. Mr F. Dahlenburg replied on behalf of his sister. Amongst those present were: Mr and Mrs G. Dahlenburg, Mr and Mrs Cowan, Mr and Mrs J. Beck, Mr and Mrs J. Flynn; Mesdames Dahlenburg, Gibson, James, J. Lindsay, Hogg, J. Flett, Clifford, D. Muir, McClinchey, R. Baird, Misses M. Dahlenburg, M. Kames, M. White, M. Swap, S. Clothier, M. Brown, M. and I. Beggs, E. Lyons, E. Smith, G. and V. Beck, G. James, Watson, Crane (3), I. Cowan, Muir, P. McDougall, M. Low, Price and D. Flynn; Messrs Dahlenburg (2), Smith (2) James, White, Watson (2), Brown, Robertson, Pullar. Clouston (2), Crane (3) Muir (4), Clifford (3), F. Ryan, V. O’Brien, Healey, Low (2), Beck (2), Swap and Cowan (3).
