PROTEST LODGED
CHRISTCHURCH ELECTIONS. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, May 10. A protest against the election of Miss Howard (Labour) to the City Council has been lodged with the Returning Officer by the Citizens’ Association. It is understood the Citizens’ Association claims that Miss Howard is not an elector of the city and her nomination is not in order. It is believed the qualification of Mr E. J. Howard, M.P., father of Miss Howard, who is certain of election to the Harbour Board, has also been challenged by the association. Mr and Miss Howard both reside outside the city.
