OUTBREAK OF FIRE
TWO-STOREY HOUSE GUTTED, CONTENTS LOST. (Per United Press Association.) Dunedin, May 8. A fire yesterday afternoon gutted a two-storey seven-roomed wooden house in Forth' street. A high wind swept the flames through the building, the contents of which were also lost. The occupiers, Mr D. MacFarlane and his wife, were absent at the time. The outbreak is believed to have originated in a room occupied by a woman named Mrs McComb.
