Miss F. McHutcheson left last Friday to spend the term holidays at Dunedin. Mrs A. T. Pettigrew, Ardwick street, returned by Saturday’s evening express from a holiday spent at Christchurch and Ashburton. Miss Lilian Smith, M.A., of the New Plymouth Girls’ High' School staff, is spending the term holidays with her parents, Mr and Mrs H. Smith, McNab. Mr and Mrs E. Edie, Invercargill, are spending a fortnight’s holiday with their daughter, Mrs H. H. Brown, Huron street, East Gore. Miss I. Sutherland, of the High School staff, left on Friday to spend the holidays at her home, Balclutha. Mrs Duncan MacFarlane, Christchurch, accompanied by her two children, is spending a holiday with her father, Mr W. Wilson. Miss Mary Johnston, Frank street, leaves this morning to spend a fortnight’s holiday at Timaru, where she will be the guest of Mrs E. Paterson. Mrs J. Coakley, Nelson, is spending a holiday with her mother, Mrs D. Corcoran, Waikaka. Mrs D. Dewar, Ardwick street, left last week on a holiday visit to her daughter, Mrs J. Hill, Dunedin. Mr and Mrs J. Hunter, The Hostel, Coutt’s Road, are spending the school holidays visiting Timaru and Christchurch. Mrs J. M. Boyne, Devon street, left on Saturday on a visit to Dunedin. Mrs E. A. Pigeon, Crombie street, motored to Dunedin last week to attend the Forbury Park Trotting meeting. Miss M. Wynne spent the week-end at Dunedin. Mrs W. Carswell, Dunedin, and formerly of Gore, was the guest of the Misses Mac Gibbon, Huron street, East Gore, for a few days, last week. Miss Kathleen Anderson, Dunedin, was the guest of Mrs D. L. Poppelwell, William street, for the week-end. Miss Margaret Martin, Christchurch, is spending a holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs R. Martin, Otama. On Saturday evening after the final performance of the “1933 Reveille” those taking part were entertained by the management at supper at the Gaiety Hall. Afterwards a pleasant hour was spent in dancing. Miss Phyllis Gordon went down to Invercargill last Thursday evening to represent the Gore Ex-Pupils’ Association at the annual dinner of the Old Girls’ Association of the Southland Girls’ High School. An enjoyable evening was spent by the members of the play reading circle of the Women’s Club last Monday evening when the three-act comedy “And So to Bed” by J. B. Fagen was read.
