PERFORMING ANIMALS
LORD DANESFORTH’S AMENDMENT TO BILL. REJECTED BY HOUSE OF LORDS. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, May 5. The House of Lords, by 42 votes to 40, rejected Lord Danesforth’s Performing Animals Amendment Bill prohibiting the training of chimpanzees, and other anthropoid apes, lions, tigers, panthers, and bears. Lord Danesfoilh argued that training was impossible without cruelty and serious danger to the trainers.
