SYMPATHETIC FARMERS. NO BIDS FORTHCOMING. (Per United Fiess Association.) Christchurch, May 6. Interrupting the auctioneer who was about to begin a forced sale in North Canterbury on Thursday of stock and implement's the owner, a farmer, appealed to those attending the sale not to bid against him but to allow the articles to come back. “The sale has been forced on me,” he said. “I ought to be allowed to buy in again.” The crowd numbering nearly 200 was sympathetic and refused to bid. As a result the sale was abandoned.
