SPIRIT OF OTTAWA

MR POLSON’S ADVICE. QUOTA OPPOSED. z (Per United Press Association.) New Plymouth, May 6. The necessity for farmers showing a united determination that the spirit as well as the letter of Ottawa should be carried out was stressed by Mr W. J. Polson, M.P., at Uruti yesterday evening. The farmers, he said, must support the Dairy Board in its demand for a free market for British goods and oppose the suggestion of a quota which would be fatal to development. _ Mr Polson emphasized that there was likely to be a determined fight on the part of interested sections to have quotas introduced in preference to reduced tariffs.
