STUDENTS RECITAL. (From Our Correspondent.) On Monday evening in the Masonic Hall, Wyndham, the pianoforte pupils of Mrs J. G. Smart, assisted by several musical friends, entertained a large assemblage of invited friends at their annual musical recital. The programme was as follows: Part I—Pianoforte duet, “Poet and Peasant,” Miss Helena Hunter and Mrs Smart; piano solo, Miss Grace Gaw; pianoforte duet, Miss L. Thompson and Master W. During the ten minutes’ interval between part 1 and 11, opportunity was taken by Major Stanley Rice to present the following pupils with certificates of awards gained at recent examinations — Misses Joyce Blackburn (preparatory), Helena Hunter (junior), Joan C. Traynor (junior), Masters Oliver Smart (junior) and Randolph Smart (advanced junior) all of whom gained honours. At the conclusion the Rev. J. A. G. Simpson, in brief form, moved a vote of thanks to Mrs Smart and other performers for the excellent evening’s entertainment, to which Mrs Smart happily responded. Tennis.

Stewart, Riversdale, is visiting his parents, Mr and Mrs J. S. Stewart, Wyndham. Mr and Mrs H. S. Jones, Dunedin, are visiting their parents in Wyndham over the holidays.
