Royal Authorship.
The Duke of Gloucester’s contribution to the book dealing with big game shooting in Africa recalls the fact that many members of our Royal family have literary gifts. The best writer of them all is Queen Maud of Norway, a British Princess. Some time ago she completed a novel, the sceqps of which were laid in this country and Norway. This work much' impressed those who were privileged to read the MS., and her Majesty was strongly urged to allow it to be published, even if under an assumed name. So far, however, Queen Maud has declined to do this.
