A meeting of the league was held in the Athenaeum on Tuesday evening, December 20. Mr C. McKeown presided over a fair attendance of members. The resignation of Mr T. Rae, who is removing from the district, was received with regret. Mr Rae has been president of the league for some considerable time and the secretary was instructed to write to the former expressing the great appreciation of the members of the valuable services rendered by him both in the capacity of member latterly as president. Arrangements were made regarding the renewing of the swing at the beach and the work is to be put in hand right away. The secretary outlined what had been done in connection with the league’s publicity campaign which is an effort to make the many attractions of Orepuki beach and district better known.
