ANGLING
QUADRANGULAR COMPETITION. WON BY GORE. The annual quadrangular angling competition was held on the Mataura river yesterday, the only teams competing being Gore and Invercargill. The teams fished in the vicinity of Mandeville and, although a strong wind made the conditions unfavourable, some good bags were obtained. Gore had a comparatively easy win, their total catch weighing 491 b Boz as compared with 301 b Boz. The heaviest bag was taken by F. Hoffman (Gore) and the heaviest fish (2fjlb), by G. Copeland (Invercargill). In the evening members of the Invercargill team were the guests of the Gore anglers. Details are as follows:— Gora.
