ODDFELLOWSHIP

(From Our Correspondent.) The usual meeting of the Loyal Otautau Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F., was held in the supper room of the hall, and after routine buisness was completed the officers for the ensuing six months were installed, the ■ installing master being Bro. T. Helm, P.G. of the Loyal Mataura Falls Lodge. After addressing the lodge he proceeded with the installation, which was carried out in a very impressive manner. The officers installed were: G.M., Bro. A. Smellie, from N.G.; N.G., Bro. P. McKenzie, from V.G.; V.G. Bro. W. R. James from elective secretary; elective secretary, Bro. J. Smellie, from Warden; and Warden, Bro. R. Milne, from Left Conductor.

The newly-elected officers thanked the members of the lodge for allowing them to go a step higher in the chairs. Bro. E. Liddell also returned thanks to the brethren for allowing him to go right through the chairs, he having now reached the office of Past Grand. P.G. Bro. A. S. James congratulated the lodge on the fine selection of officers for the next term, and impressed upon all members and officers alike the necessity of learning the ritual. P.G. Bro. T. Helm took the opportunity to thank the members for asking him to officiate as installing master, and complimented

the lodge in having such good members in office. In addition to those mentioned the following were- also present: Sisters Bird, Collie, Smellie, Smyth, Bone, McCulloch; Bros. Manson, Collie (2), Low, Kane, P.G’s. A. A. Liddell, M. L. Thomson, R. G. H. Robertson, A. S. James and E. A. Liddell; Bros Clothier and J. Thomson.

After the lodge opened the Initiation of a new honorary member was proceeded with, P.G. Bro. R. G. H. Robertson and Bro. R. Milne being the Conductors.
