DAMAGES AWARDED
SEQUEL TO FATAL ACCIDENT. (Per United Press Association.) Napier, November 2. As a sequel to a fatal accident on the Napier-Hastings road on June 20 last, Clara Jane Smyth brought a claim against Arthur John Haslam in the Supreme Court yesterday for £4OOO general damages and £33 11/9 special damages for the loss of her husband. The jury found in favour of plaintiff, awarding £2OOO damages.
