AUSTRALIAN PILOTS. VISIT SUGGESTED TO NEW ZEALAND. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, November 2. Arrangements concerning the visit to New Zealand by a team of Australian pilots was considered by the council of the New Zealand Aero Club to-day. Although it has not yet been decided to invite the team, a sub-com-mittee, Messrs S. E. Nielson, A. W. Nisbet and C. C. Weinstein were appointed to interview Mr B. Shield, of the Vacuum Oil Company, in regard to the proposal. ~ e A letter from Mr Shield, sponsor ot the scheme, stated he had interviewed Squadron Leader Guy Moore, secretary of the Associated Australian Aero Club, who was particularly interested in the idea. He stated that a team of club pilots could easily be arranged in Australia. The principal difficulty would be transport. He suggested that only three pilots be invited instead of four as originally suggested. It would be simple for each of the major clubs in New Zealand in the case for transport over their own’territory. If the team arrived in Auckland for a pageant, Auckland could send three machines to New Plymouth with the visitors and three local pilots could fly the machines back. The Western Federation would care for the team from New Plymouth to Wellington and so on. There should be little difficulty in billeting the visitors for the short time they remain in each centre. Mr Shield continued that the chief item of expense- for the visitors would be boat fare. This equid at least be partly met by allocating a small percentage of the pageant gates to the visitors.
