DUST NUISANCES, RIVERTON.

To the Editor. Sir.—Some time ago the Riverton Borough spoke of getting a water cart for the dust nuisance in Riverton. This is four or five weeks ago and there is so far no appearance of the said water cart and the dust nuisances these last three weeks is simply disgusting .ana annoying to business people, especially where foodstuffs and fruit are concerned. If we had a live works committee every day requirements would be done, but the water cart is like the tar sealing of the streets, “Wait and see how it will do in other boroughs with the result that Riverton was left in the lurch simply because they did not push on with the work when the Highways Board were prepared to do it, with the result Riverton is the only borough in Southland that has not got its streets tar sealed like other towns. After it gets over its hundredth year it might wake up. Some members of the Works Committee seem to sprag every wheel that is set in motion for the good of the town. Probably the water cart will arrive the first wet day.—l am etc., “SANDY BLIGHT.”
