HERRIOT VISITS SPAIN
MADRID STUDENTS DISTRUSTFUL. FEARS OF MILITARY ALLIANCE. (United Press Assn. —Telegraph Copyright.) Madrid, October 31. M. Herriot has arrived on a short visit. He was met at the station by President Uzana, Ministers and representatives of the Press. His welcome was cordial, but students, believing his arrival portends a Franco-Spanish military alliance and the revival of the Riffian campaign, and distrusting the French disarmament policy, paraded the streets shouting: “Death to Herriot!” “Down with French imperialism” and “We want no wars. Later they declared a three days strike.
