RAISING OF BLOCKSHIPS. Two blockships sunk at the western entrance of Dover Harbour to prevent torpedo attacks during the war are being raised after 18 years. The work is being carried out by the Dover Harbour Board. Six steel wire ropes were placed under one of the sections weighing 1,500 tons, and it was raised and towed about 800 ft. to the east. The other sections were to be dealt with similarly. The .vessels sunk were the Spanish Prince and the Lavonia.
