A HEAVY FINE
INHABITANTS OF TOWN. HARBOURING A TERRORIST. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.5 p.m.) Calcutta, October . 27. A collective fine of £6OOO was imposed by the Bengal Government on the inhabitants of Chittagong, a town of Pahartali, the scene of the recent terrorist outrage, and seven surrounding villages in consequepce of failure on the part of Hindu residents to give the Government information regarding a terrorist whom they suspected to be harbouring and assisting. Realization of the fine was postponed until December 1 to see whether the action of prominent Hindu inhabitants in forming associations to aid the Government to. track the terrorists will prove effective.
