CONFERENCE OF INSTITUTE. HOPES FOR RECOVERY. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, October 26. In opening the conference of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand to-day, the Mayor, Mr G. W. Hutchison, expressed the opinion that business conditions showed a slight upward trend while the improvement in the trading position was definite, the surplus of exports in the last eight months having been £13,000,000. He said he had reached the conclusion that there would soon be a definite shortage of houses. The land agency business would be amongst the first to recover from the depression.
