HOKONUI CLUB. OPENING OF SEASON. The Hokonui Bowling Club officially opened its season yesterday afternoon when there was a large muster of club members and representatives of the Gore and Mataura clubs. The weather was dull but fine and the green was well grassed. The president, Mr H. Halliday, welcomed visiting bowlers and expressed the hope that they would spend a pleasant afternoon on the green. He called on Mrs D. Tait to roll the first bowl and declared the green open for play. A friendly match between teams representing the president and vice-presi-dent was played, the latter winning by 23 points.
