TOUR CONCLUDES

BRITISH PRINCES FRIENDLY RECEPTION IN SWEDEN SPEECH BROADCAST (British Official Wireless.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, October 11. The Prince of Wales and Prince George have concluded their visit to Sweden. On the eve of their departure the Prince of Wales broadcast a speech expressing to the people of Sweden warm thanks for the friendly reception given to his brother and himself. He was much impressed by all he had seen, by the beauty of Swoden’s country and capital, and by those aspects of industrial life which he had been able to inspect.

Commenting on the widespread knowledge of the English language amongst all classes in Sweden, the Prince of Wales expressed the opinion that Swedes were wise to learn English because it was becoming one of the best and easiest means of intercourse between the nations. It was a great satisfaction to observe the growing tendency of Sweden towards commercial and cultural relations with Britain, which he assured Swedes in Britain reciprocated fully and warmly. King Gustav and several members of the Swedish Royal Family were at the station when the princes left, as well as a great crowd. The princes are spending this evening at Gothenburg before leaving at midnight for Malmo, where an aeroplane will be taken to Hamburg. Prince George will then fly to Rondon, while the Prince of Wales will pay a short private visit to Amsterdam, staying at the British Legation.
