Mrs L. J. Brown, Waihoaka, has been the guest of Mr and Mrs J. R. Corkhill for a few days. Miss K. Campbell is spending a few days with Mr and Mrs D. Campbell and Mrs R. S. Chilton, “Alton Brae,” Tuatapere.

Miss B. Stevens, who has been visiting friends in Invercargill during the week, returned home on Saturday evening.

Mrs Jaquiery, Invercargill, spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs F. Eason, Harbison street.

Mrs Webb is the guest of Mr and Mrs Steve James, Aparima, for a few days.

Mrs and Miss Campbell, Lieman street, left by motor for Christchurch yesterday on the first stages of their journey to Auckland, where they intend to spend an extended holiday. There was a good attendance at the Rover dance on Friday evening in the supper room of the Town Hall. Splendid music was supplied by Miss N. Renowden (piano) and Mr D. Roberts (saxophone), while Mr J. Thomson, jun., played the supper extra. The duties of masters of ceremonies were ably carried out by Messrs F. Hill, jun., and J. Thomson. Following were amongst those present: Messrs D. Mills. E. Wesney, F. Paulin. M. Brown. R. Smyth, J. Duncan, M. Chisholm, B. Smellie, M. Porteous and M. Rowe, Messrs R. R. Walker, W. A. Low, J. Thomson, W. Maxwell, F. Hill, jun., J. Currie, A. McKenzie, T. Smellie, M. Paulin. C. Hill, F. Thomson, W. Smellie, M. Mclvor, F. James, T. McKenzie and W. von Tunzleman.

Mr and Mrs T. Stroud left yesterday on a motor tour of the South Island. Mr Stott, of Invercargill, is relieving during Mr Stroud’s absence.
