INQUEST RESUMED
DEATH OF WOMAN. (Per United Press Association.) Gisborne, October 7. After an interval of three months the inquest concerning the death of Mrs Elizabeth Beattie, aged 48, was resumed this morning before the District Coroner, Mr P. H. Harper, S.M. Mrs Beattie died on August 7 and the inquest was opened the following day and adjourned for the report of the analyst. Detective McLeod in reopening the proceedings stated the analyst had discovered 1.6 grains of poison, but after exhaustive inquiries he had been unable to ascertain how she obtained possession of the poison. Deceased was the wife of a man in South Canterbury and came to Gisborne twelve years ago with another with whom she had lived happily.
