A message from Shanghai states that the prolonged absence of news from Newchang concerning Mrs Pawley and Mr Corkran during the past twelve days is arousing considerable anxiety as to the fate of the captives, though it is possible that continual rains are considerably delaying messengers to the bandit camp.
