GUILTY OF FRAUD
MOTOR DRIVER SENT TO GAOL. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, October 6. George Cecil Lorry, aged 25, a motor driver, pleaded guilty to-day to five charges of obtaining goods and money by fraud in Auckland and in Wellington. It was stated the accused, on arriving from Wellington, booked at a leading hotel as Captain Cunliffe and later left for Sydney by the Mariposa, but he was deported back to Auckland. He had 48 previous convictions. The Magistrate sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment, to be followed by three years’ reformative.
