PACIFIC SOUTH-WEST TOURNEY. PERRY WINS SINGLES TITLE. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Los Angeles, September 23. At the Pacific South-West tennis tournament the men’s singles was won by F. J. Perry (Britain), who defeated J. Satoh (Japan) in the final. Results:— MEN’S SINGLES. Semi-Finals. J. Satoh (Japan) beat H. W. Austin (Britain) B—6, 7—5, 4—6, B—6, 6—l. F. J. Perry (Britain) beat de Stefani (Italy) 6—3, 2—6, B—6, 6-3. Final. Perry beat Satoh 6—2, 6-4, 7—5. The Japanese was far off the style which he exhibited against Vines and Austin. DOUBLES. After losing the first set against Vines and Gledhill (America) 6 —B, Perry and Austin won the second 6—l and tied at eight all in the third. Play was stopped by darkness and the deciding sets were postponed until Sunday. Perry, who was meeting Satoh in the singles final, refused a preliminary match in the morning.
