This amount shows a decrease of £l6 0/3 compared with the previous season. The rowers have been well .catered for as regards training boats, there being two practice fours, one pair, one sculler and a single sculler available. Social: Opening day was celebrated in time-honoured fashion on the afternoon of October 3, there being a large number of members and spectators present. The annual dance was held in the Town Hall on June 20, and a large crowd attended, the function proving a huge success from every point of view. A very enjoyable evening was held in the boatshed when three members who have become benedicts were presented with mementoes of the club’s regard. Another very enjoyable function was a send-off and presentation to Mr J. Potts. We are sorry to lose such a good rower and clubmate, and we wish Mr Potts every success in his future career. The thanks of the club are due to Messrs T. F. Doyle and R. Kirkwood for cash donations and to the following for goods for euchre prizes at the annual dance: Messrs T. F. Doyle, P. Forde, W. Harris, R. V. Weir, Nichol Bros, and Nicholson snd Son. Thanks are also due to the coaches —captain, deputy-captain, auditor and caretakers for their valuable assistance during the season, and to all members taking part in the regattas for their sterling performances. In conclusion, the committee asks for the continued loyalty of members of the A.B.C. and its officers, and trust that the club’s prosperity will be maintained during the coming season. In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, the chairman congratulated the club on the position revealed. Although the prize-money won showed a decrease on the previous year, Mr Budd said, this could be explained by the lowering _ of stakes.
