MARKET REMAINS FIRM. “WALTER PEAK” TOUCHES 20D. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) London, September 22. At the wool sales 11,756 bales were offered, including 3935 from New Zealand. About 7490 were sold. There was good Home and foreign competition at full late rates. Some withdrawals of speculators’ lots were made owing to high limits. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office under date 20th instant: —The wool sales have opened with strong competition and a large attendance of buyers. There is an active demand by all branches of the trade.
