BASKETBALL DISPUTE.

To the Editor. Sir,—An item appearing in this morning’s issue of your paper, referring to a petition which is being signed for the re-instatement of the Kiwi A grade team is interesting. Certainly it is cheering to the Kiwi girls to know that the sympathy of the active members of the various clubs is With them. I consider the matter has gone too far for any petition to take effect and until the Executive has an equal number of male members, these spiteful punishments will always take place. If the president of the Kiwi Club had called a public meeting of the sporting public of this town, I am sure that such a protest would have been made that the “Big Three,” who practically rule the Basketball Executive, would have resigned.—l am, etc., JUSTICE. Invercargill, May 30, 1932.
