ANNUAL REUNION. (From Our Correspondent) The annual reunion of poultry enthusiasts was held on Friday evening, when there was a fair attendance. Mr J. 0. Clapp officiated as chairman, and after the loyal toast had been honoured, he stated that once a year poultry fanciers assembled to forget their sorrows and congratulate the winners and losers. He trusted all would enjoy themselves, and hoped that those who were not successful this year would again come forward and endeavour to do better next year. In proposing the toast of "The Judges,” Mr F. Boyle said that during the time the Poultry Association had been in existence they had had some good judges who had always given satisfaction. Mr Baxter (Seaward Downs) had officiated in that capacity for a number of years and they had been well satisfied with his decisions. He deserved all the encomiums they could shower upon him. They were indebted to him for coming such a long distance, and also for. the assistance which he had always given to exhibitors. The lady judges in the other sections were also to be thanked for coming along year after year and giving their services. In reply Mr Baxter said the show was well up to the usual standard and considering the hard times- they were passing through it was quite as good as many metropolitan shows. The chairman welcomed the visitors and said they were pleased to have Mr

C. Cussens, Government poultry expert, with them. He was well known to all poultry enthusiasts and he would be only too pleased to impart advice to those who needed it After Mr W. Dahren had proposed the toast of “The Visitors,” Mr Cussens responded. He congratulated the officials and exhibitors on the manner in which the birds were penned, and generally speaking, the • condition in which they were exhibited was very creditable. The Black Orpington and duck sections were much improved. The speaker stressed the advantage of keeping the show going and stated that the department was out to encourage and stimulate interest in poultry-keep-ing, realizing its importance to the Dominion. In proposing the toast of “Successful Exhibitors,” Mr Cussens said it was a pleasure to see competitors coming from such a long distance. - Messrs Bell and-H. A. Mathieson replied, stating that they had been well satisfied with the decision of the judge. Mr F. Boyle was entrusted with the

performed his duties in a creditable manner. Mr Clapp replied. During the evening items were given as follows: Songs, Messrs Tikey and J. Grant; recitations, Messrs Cussens, F. Boyle and S. Crawford.
