A meeting of the committee of the Winton Golf Club was held on Monday evening last when there was a fair attendance present. The following dates for inter-club matches were approved:—Otatara ladies to play at Winton on June 10; Mataura (mixed team) to play at Winton on June 15. An invitation from the Wyndham Club to play at Wyndham was accepted and the secretary was directed to write suggesting June 29 or July 6 as suitable dates for the match. It was decided to write to the Riverton Club accepting a match with thanks and advising that a ladies’ match might be arranged later in the season. A suggestion was made to the men’s handicapper that the adjustment of the men’s handicaps be gone into as bogey for the course had been reduced. It was agreed to ask the coach to visit Winton on a Tuesday at the earliest possible date. The following new members were proposed: Misses N. Stewart and V. Shaw, Messrs B. Gow and R. Walker.
