RAILWAYMEN’S UNION
GENERAL STRIKE THREAT. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 11.20 p.m.) Sydney, May 29. A special meeting of the Federal Council of the Australian Railwaymen’s Union passed a resolution to-day that it would resist any attempt by the Commonwealth Government to deregister its union because of its affiliation- with the Red International of Trade Unions. The decision is regarded as a threat of a general strike if the Government enforces the recently passed legislation dealing with Communists and unions affiliated with Soviet bodies.
