FIRE BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Invercargill Fire Board was held yesterday afternoon, there being present Messrs E. B. Pilcher (chairman), C. J. Broad R. N. Todd, M. N. Hyndman and his Worship the Mayor (Mr John Miller). The superintendent (Mr F. Simpson) reported that since February 23 the brigade had attended three calls, namely, one shop (slight damage), one motor car (severe damage to upholstery), and one chimney fire. All station routine had been carried out to his entire satisfaction during the past month. All fire alarm points both street and automatic had been tested and were in good order. All plant and equipment were in first class order. Subsequent to the monthly meeting the annual meeting was held, Mr E. B. Pilcher being re-elected chairman. The last Thursday in the month was fixed for the date of meetings.
