DE GROOT REMANDED
DEMONSTRATION OUTSIDE COURT. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) Sydnc- March 21. Captain de Groot appeared before Mr Laidlaw, S.M., at the Central Police Court on three charges in connection with the Bridge incident and was remanded until April 1. His departure from the Court was marked by a demonstration.
Colonel Campbell, leader of the New Guard, and de Groot were escorted by a big batch of police to a tram in George street. Policemen lined the running boards of the tram car, gradually jumping off as an angry mob was left behind.
