Cid or Pressed Glass

There are many individuals who cannot always distinguish between cut glass and the inexpensive but often very lovely pressed glass. By laying a hand on the piece of glass one can tell the difference instantly by the “feel.” The edges of the designs in pressed glass always are smooth and slightly rounded, while in cut glass these edges are decidedly sharp to the touch. There is also a great deal of difference in appearance, of course, the cut glass having an almost diamond-like sparkle and brilliance lacking in the pressed variety. But it is not necessary to look for this difference for by just one touch of the finger along the edges of the design one can tell at once which kind of glass it is.
