IN BANKRUPTCY

WYNDHAM BLACKSMITH. A meeting of creditors in the estate of Hugh McLean, blacksmith, Wyndham, was held at Wyndham before Mr H. Morgan, Official Assignee. Bankrupt’s statement was to the effect that he had been in Wyndham about four years, working for W. Kerr for two years, then taking over his business. Fourteen months later the premises had been destroyed by fire, his loss above insurance being considerable. He was at present in a rented shop at 12/6 a week. The slump had caused the usual difficulty in getting in accounts. He had been summoned by the United Trading Co, which issued a distress warrant, on which he filed in fairness to his other creditors. The statement of accounts showed unsecured creditors £167 1/5 and no secured creditors. On the credit side were: stock in trade £3O, book debts (£150) estimated to produce £l4O, dray £3O, lorry £l5, wireless set £59 —total £229. No motion was passed. The assignee will deal with the estate.
