Mrs Campbell is the guest of Mr and Mrs M. O’Brien. Mrs and Miss Bird are spending a few days in Dunedin. Miss W. Porteous spent the week-end at Ohai as the guest of Mr and Mrs Baineaves. Amongst those who motored to Invercargill last week to be guests at the Bews— Hubber wedding were: Mr and Mrs W. Kennedy and family (“Studleigh,” Otautau), Mr and Mrs R. Kennedy and family (Drummond), Mr and Mrs W. Mathieson (Heddon Bush), Misses and Mr Teviotdale (Isla Bank), Mr and Mrs Hubber (Heddon Bush), Mr J. Spratt (Drummond), Misses Seater (2) and Mr W. Scatter (Otautau). On Friday evening a very enjoyable dance under the auspices of the Bayswater Tennis Club was held in the Drummond Hall, when there was a good attendance. The building was tastefully decorated for the occasion. Capital music -was supplied by the Kentucky Dance Band, extras being played by Miss Jean Allison, while Mr A. Johnston capably carried out the duties of M.C. A lucky spot waltz was won by Miss Sutton and Mr Officer, while the winners of the Monte Carlo waltz were Mrs W. Woods and Mr A. Miller. Amongst those present were: Mr and Mrs Linklater, Mr and Mrs R. McLeod, Mr and Mrs W. Woods, Misses M. Collie, L. Kennedy, Turner (3), Rattray, Sutton, Laughton, Kennedy (2), Allison, Lambert, Affleck, McLean (2), Barker (2), and Cowan (Oreti), A. Hubber (Invercargill), Gill (2, Winton), Walker (Winton), Munro (Lochiel) and Teviotdale (3, Isla Bank), Malcolm (4), McLeod, Walker, Kennedy, Collie, Johnstone (2), J. Spratt, Officer, Rattray, Hallum, Stewart, Towns, McLean, Miller (2), Barker (2) and Walker (Oreti), Connelly (Invercargill) and others. Miss M. Lumsden is the guest of Mr and Mrs W. Smellie, “Stretton,” Otautau. Mrs Butters,, Rangiora, was the guest of Mrs E. Chilton and Mr and Mrs Ben Dickson, Aparima, recently. Mr and Mrs H. Beal, East Eyreton, Canterbury, have been visiting friends in Aparima. Wedding. NORMAN—GORDON. A quiet wedding was celebrated at St. Andrew’s Church, Otautau, on Wednesday last, the contracting parties being Margaret Ellen, youngest daughter of Mrs E. M. Gordon, Queen street, Otautau, and Albert Thomas, second son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Norman, ‘‘Strathalien, ” Otautau. The Rev. Ford was the officiating clergyman. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Elizabeth Mabel Gordon, while Mr Frank Gordon carried out the duties of groomsman. After the ceremony an adjournment was made to the Vicarage for the wedding breakfast, over which the Rev. Ford presided, and at which the usual toasts were honoured. Mr and Mrs Norman will reside in Otautau.
