Could Space grow eerie-wise and strange And Time seem what it is, As if we stood behind a door Which suddenly opened to some sun, And in true light was all before? That would be human greatness, power, But not what is called force. Philosophy would wither like a flower, And every star in every several course Would find Eternity in its own hour. Shakespeare, Napoleon, Darwin, These would be lost from then.
