Mr T. O’Byrne left for Wellington by last evening’s express. Mr W. T. Gilbert returned from the north by Saturday evening’s express.
Mr D. Rutledge returned from Dunedin by the express on Saturday evening. Mr H. A. Price left Gore by Saturday morning’s express for Wellington. His Worship the Mayor (Mr John Miller), who has been attending a meeting of the executive of the Municipal Association in. Wellington, returned to Invercargill by Saturday evening’s express. At the office of the Department of Agriculture on Saturday morning, the staff met to ext&id its best wishes to Mr J. P. Shennan on the eve of his approaching marriage. Mr O. O. Mackley, on behalf of the officers of the various divisions, presented Mr Shennan with a travelling rug as a token of the high esteem in which he is held by all. Mr Shennan suitably replied. Messrs J. L. McG. Watson, Chief, and Messrs W. R. Ronald and W. Falconer, Chieftains of the St. Andrew’s Scottish Society of Invercargill, who attended the monthly meeting of the Dunedin Scottish Society at Dunedin on Saturday evening, returned to Invercargill by motor car yesterday afternoon. Mr James Robertson, who also attended the meeting, is expected to return early this week.
