ORAWIA NOTES
The Orawia Tennis Club held a very enjoyable dance in the hall on Friday, March 11. The Green Valley Orchestra from Otautau supplied the music and extras were played by Mr 0. McLeay. Mr Chamberlain was M.C. About 60 couples attended, some of those present being: Mr and Mrs W. Fowle, Mr and Mrs G. Smith and Mesdames J. Ballantyne, Riddle, B. Beer, J. G. McIntosh; Misses Fowle (2), Rohan (2), Hamilton, Wilson, King (2), O’Brien (2), Glen (2), Barclay (Invercargill), Sim, White, Marshall, Sandford, Campbell, Watson, McCulloch, Kilkelly, Hardy, Chamberlain, N. Glynn, Donaldson, Lindsay, Weir, Begley (2), Brick, Bradley; Messrs Rodgers, Finlayson, Findlay (3), Gorrie, Brick (3), Watson, King (2), Porter, Collie, Chamberlain (5), Hagen (2), Glen (2), Bates, E. Fowle, Hamilton (3), Sandford, McNaughton, Scobie, Moir (2), Sim, Glending, Egerton, Galt, Cochrane (2), O’Brien, Cavanagh, McLeay (2), Owen, Rohan (2) and Burns and Goodall. Mr and Mrs G. Smith won the lucky spot walte.
