GOVERNMENT LOANS
MEETING OF BOARD. APPLICATIONS DEALT WITH. (Per United Press Association.) , Wellington, March 18. At a meeting of the Local Government Loans Board, 44 applications for loans totalling £265,000 were dealt with. Loans amounting to £250,816 were sanctioned, including £181,400 for renewals, £51,975 for new loans, £10,500 loans for restoration of earthquake damage, £4500 for unemployment and £2441 unexpended balance of previous loans was authorized to be used for other purposes. The balance, £15,090, of the amounts submitted, was either declined or referred back to the local authorities concerned for further consideration.
