INCREASED RAILWAY TRAFFIC. 1 In an interview concerning methods of increasing railway traffic, Mr W. H. Simpson, assistant general passenger agent of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa I'e Railway, stated: — “More of our advertising money is spent in newspapers than in all other mediums combined. That show» what the Santa Fe thinks of newspaper space.” A similar view was expressed by Mr N. L. Howard, president of the Great Western Railway, Chicago, who declared: “In my opinion, the most satisfactory results are obtained ‘from newspaper advertising, and especially if continued 'for a reasonable period of time, because the newspapers are more widely read now than ever before, and the public has been educated to search the advertising columns of the daily Press to find out where the articles they want can be purchased to best advantage.”
