SECONDARY SCHOOLS’ ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Secondary Schools’ Basketball Association was held at the Technical College on Thursday .last. Mr C. A. Stewart presided. In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet Mr Stewart remarked on the satisfactory state of the finances, the balance being a very creditable one. ‘ The election of officers resulted: President, Miss A. Eastwood; vice-presidents, the Rev. J. A. Lush, and Mr C. A. Stewart; secretary-treasurer: Miss R. A. White; secondary schools representative on Southland Basketball Association executive: Miss A. Calder; postponement committee: Miss Eastwood and Miss White. On the motion of Miss Calder, seconded by Miss Blaikie, is was agreed that annual subscriptions be reduced to a uniform rate of 2/6 per team. It was decided that matches commence on Wednesday, April 20, and that the number of teams be sent to the secretary not later than noon, April 11, names for registration and subscriptions to be sent in by Monday, April 18. After a discussion regarding the grading of players, it was moved by Mr Stewart and seconded by Miss White, that after the second year, girls be classified as seniors, unless special permission for a girl to play as a junior be granted. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the retiring president, Miss White expressing appreciation of the interest shown by Mr Stewart during his four years of office as president.
