GORE SUMMER CLUB. CLOSING OF SEASON. The closing of the Gore Summer Golf Club’s season took place on Wednesday, when a large gathering of players assembled at the East Gore Domain. The weather conditions were perfect and the links were in excellent order. A mixed four-ball match was played, the winners being Miss B. Johnston and W. Young. Mr A. J. Kcrse, chairman of the Summer Committee, referred to the season just completed. He said he considered that the summer club with its very enjoyable weekly matches, had been instrumental in bringing in a large number of new players who would, no doubt, be staunch supporters of the winter club. After .asking Mrs A. T. Pettigrew to present the prizes, Mr Kerse referred to the excellent way in which Mr E- J. Crosbie, the honorary' secretary, had carried out his duties, and also thanked the various members who had donated trophies and those who had heljied during the .season. An excellent day’s sport concluded with approaching and putting, and driving competitions, the winners being: Ladies’ approaching and putting: Miss B. Johnston and Mrs E. J. Crosbie equal. Driving: Mrs F. V. Piper. Men’s approaching and putting: W. Young. Driving: F. D. Scott. Season’s prizewinners: Knock-out competition, ladies—Winner, Mrs J. A. S. Ait; ken; runner-up, Mrs E. J. Crosbie. Men — winner, A. Aitken; runner-up, 11. R. Domigan. The following won balls: Miss D. Noake, Miss E. Johnston, Miss p. Martin and Miss I. Rhodes (2 each), Miss M. Bannerman (3), Mi.ss E. Sim, Mrs E. J. Crosbie, Mrs F. V. Piper, Mrs J. A. Sinclair and Miss B. Johnston (one each) ; E. J. Crosbie (4), O. Nelson (3), G. L. Sadd (2), A. Aitken, J. A. Sinclair, A. Wilson, B. Cochrane and 11. R. Domigan (one each). Trophies were donated by Miss B. Johnston, Miss I. Rhodes and Mr J. A. Sinclair.
