BOUND FOR SYDNEY
THE BRIDGE CELEBRATIONS. GAY SCENES ON WELLINGTON WHARF. (Per United Press Association,) Wellington, March 8. There was a gay assemblage on the wharf this afternoon when the Makura sailed with 416 passengers, many of whom on holiday bent will attend the celebrations of the opening of the Sydney Bridge. The South African cricketers were among the passengers and were farewelled by cricket enthusiasts and officials. More than 1500 people have left New Zealand on the last four ships, most of whom are visiting the Sydney Bridge celebrations.
